I’m participating in the FANS Ultra Races, which means I will attempt to move forward for up to 12 hours. Will I be fast? No. Graceful? Also no. Determined? Absolutely. I’m fundraising for FANS (Furthering Achievement Through a Network of Support), a Minneapolis-based program that has spent over 30 years providing academic support, mentorship, and scholarships for high school students — especially students of color, recent immigrants, and others who have been historically underrepresented in higher education. 100% of donations from this race go directly to students, helping cover tuition, books, and other real costs. So while I’m out there walk-running, negotiating with my legs, and questioning my choices, your donation will be doing something far more impressive: helping make college possible.
