By registering for FANS Ultra Races, you (the “Registrant”) confirm agreement with the following Policies and Release & Waiver agreement (v2027.1.1)
Medical Support and Assumption of Risk
While we are committed to hosting a safe and welcoming event, participants must recognize that participating in the FANS Ultra Races is a potentially hazardous activity that carries inherent risks and requires a highly proactive approach to personal safety. I understand that I should not participate in this event unless I am properly trained, am in excellent physical condition, and have no medical conditions which could worsen with intense physical activity.
We will have dedicated medical volunteers on-site equipped to assist with minor issues, hopefully (but not guaranteed) for the entire race. However, race organizers do not provide comprehensive or continuous medical monitoring. In the event of a serious medical situation, or any scenario where there is doubt regarding a runner’s condition, our strict protocol is to immediately contact 911. By registering for this event, you verify that you have full knowledge of the risks involved, acknowledge the limits of our on-site medical resources, and assume all risk and responsibility for any injuries you may incur or cause, as well as full responsibility for your personal health and well-being on the course.
Racer Safety Responsibilities and Requirements
To support our volunteers and local emergency responders, we require all racers to take an active role in their own safety management. Participants must comply with all mandatory safety protocols. Furthermore, all runners are required to clearly write their critical medical information, current medications, allergies, and emergency contact numbers on the back of their race bib. This ensures that if you are unable to advocate for yourself, first responders have immediate access to essential information.
Additionally, racers are responsible for being familiar with race day information published in May ahead of the event.
Liability Release
In consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, agree not to hold any and all participating sponsors, supporters, race committee members and the board of directors, employees and agents of such parties, or the Three Rivers Park District, State of Minnesota, Pillsbury United Communities, and the officers and employees of such entities, or any group or individual not identified herein, responsible for any claims. Furthermore, I release and waive the sponsors' representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.
Waiver Changes
In the event of a change of waiver, registrants may be required to re-sign the waiver before participation in the event via electronic or paper means.
Racers and their supporters must follow Bloomington Park Regulations linked above. Most notably, respecting the park and other park patrons on the open course and strict adherence to the drug and alcohol policy. Alcohol is not permitted in the park.
Right to Refuse Entry
I acknowledge that race organizers can refuse entry at their discretion due to conduct or other violations of race or park policy. This includes the ability for race organizers to remove a racer during the event.
Refund Policy
All payments are non-refundable. This includes registration fees, processing fees, and donations.
Division Change Policy
Division changes are allowed up to 1 week prior to race start. A $10 fee applies for non-fundraising registrants to change divisions and an upgrade fee will apply if moving to a longer race. Fundraisers may change divisions at no cost.
Upgrade fee: If the change involves an upgrade in race division (e.g. 12 hour to 24 hour) then an upgrade fee will apply in addition to the division change. The upgrade fee is the current registration rate less the originally paid registration fee. If downgrading, only the division change fee will apply (no discounts/credits apply).
Transfer Policy
Non-fundraising registrants may transfer their registration to another racer up to 1 week prior to race start. A $25 fee applies for the transfer and an upgrade fee will apply if moving to a longer race. Fundraising registrants may not transfer to another racer.
Deferral Policy
Non-fundraising registrants may elect to defer registration up to 1 week prior to the race start. Race deferral is granted in the form of a promotion code that must be used by the original registrant and is only valid for the next year’s race. The promotion code value will be equal to the amount paid for the original registration. If the value of the promotion code does not cover registration due an upgrade or rate increase, then the registrant is responsible for the difference. No refunds (full or partial) will be issued.
Deferrals are not permitted for fundraising registrants.
Fundraising Policy
All fundraisers should aspire to meet a $500 fundraising goal. However, we will only hold individuals responsible for a minimum amount equal to that of the registration fee in the highest pricing tier in the case that the fundraising goal is not met.
We have very rarely had to ask racers to cover fundraising shortfall and are happy to provide help in your fundraising efforts via social media - we ask that you customize your fundraising page with a picture and message prior to requesting assistance.
Photo and Video Release
I grant permission to the FANS race and/or any agents acting on its behalf to use any pictures or videos taken at the race for any purpose.
